Arriving in Edinburgh early evening, I have to climb too many stairs, up and down, to reach my hostel, which is on the other side of the hill where the castle is. Oh well, it is worth it.
October 6th 2023, the weather is nice this morning, apparently the only good weather for the week-end, so I start by walking to Arthur’s seat, a former volcano with a pretty sick view over the city.
It is extremely windy up there and at times I can barely walk. I sit down behind a rock, sheltering me from the wind, having a cookie and drinking the tea in my thermos (what a brilliant idea to bring this) and I think about what to do next. I remembered that when I came with my friend Florence, we found this little and cute garden down the hill somewhere, seems like it still exists, I go there. It’s called Dr. Neil’s Garden.
I walk back to the city center, via Meadows Park, but first I am eating a Full Scottish Breakfast in a little place called Millers Sandwich Bar. Very nice and full of locals, some kids are there when I leave, they seem to come often.
