I have lived in Vancouver for 3 years, and I want to share with you some nature, peaceful places I really enjoyed, which are all accessible by public transport.
Stanley Park
A must-see in Vancouver, I was never tired of going there. You can walk amongst the giant trees, meet its inhabitants (squirrels, birds, raccoons…) and admire quite stunning views, all this very close to Vancouver city centre.
Queen Elisabeth Park and the Bloedel Conservatory
Queen E Park is a very peaceful place, you can walk through the gardens or relax in the grass, you can climb up top and there you’ll find a gorgeous view over the city and mountains. Up top you will also find an intriguing dome, the Bloedel Conservatory. Do not hesitate to visit it, you’ll be amazed by the numerous exotic birds and plants species.
Jericho Beach
Jericho is a bit less busy than Kits Beach, and the views are as stunning, especially when the sun sets !
Bowen Island
Bowen Island is very close to Vancouver, a 20min ferry ride will take you there from Horseshoe Bay. Snug Cove is the ferry terminal, and you can hike to St Marks Summit directly from Snug Cove, you’ll be greatly rewarded with the views over Howe Sound and Vancouver.
Lighthouse Park
Lighthouse Park is a good place to spend a Sunday to walk a little and relax. You’ll get to see some nice views, a sailing boat here and there, the lighthouse and have fun climbing up and down some rocks.
Thank you for reading and let me know in the comments if you’ve been there and what you’ve enjoyed most!
